I think with a good start you should be able to beat it and after 60mph, the V6 is done and the V8 takes over!

On paper an IS350 has slightly better p/w ratio than a 545 and also a slightly better drag coefficient although it has less Torque and HP, I think the the IS can also put down more of that power. In the real world I'd guess it would be pretty close.

Yea I think the IS350 would be a TAD ahead of the 545i until 60-70mph.
i had a chance to drive one IS (250 manual) and i must say the steering felt pretty tight and suspention handled good. it gave me a sporty feeling. i would still buy a bmw though
