i have done it. not in the bmw. one time i had the fuel cap on the trunk in the maxima. i didnt even know until i looked in the rear view and saw the fuel cap just chillin up against the spoiler

ha ha in jerzey its against the law to pump your own gas! however i still pump my own for fear of the attendents spilling gas on the car.
