I thought you could easly do 300km/h+ in an M5 without any mods

To get over 270km/h you need to remove the Vmax at least ...

When BMW "REMOVES" the Vmax it will actually set to a new Vmax, which is 305 Km/h. But that's still NOT the top speed. If the car would be really open, it would be even faster.
