How about a 42 thousand dollar discount on a sports car?

Autoblog reports that you can now take a mind-numbing $42,083 discount on a purchase of a Tesla sports car if you are a Colorado resident and buy the car before Dec. 31st, 2009. The catch - as there inevitably always is one - is that you get the money back as a tax credit. However, buying a $100k+ sports car, I'm guessing your tax bracket would be high enough to actually take advantage of the entire $42k. I don't know all the details on this, but figured I'd put this out there for you guys to chew on.
PS if anyone takes advantage of this, share your experience - I'm curious to know what this whole tax credit thing is like in reality.
