Hi everyone from sunny Dallas!!! Having a great time...met up with JDN and his Mrs. ( great people !!) had a mad BBQ rib session yesterday needless to say it was fantastic. Had a nice surprise as well - since right next to the restaurant was a BMW dealer full of 5 series. Was hard to hold back the tears... :'( Think the combination of the ribs - BMW's - and great company was just too much for
me!!!

Jim was kind enough to even let me drive his 545i SMG, what an experience !
that SMG is actually pretty amazing...plus he gave me some cool wax stuff ( REJEX) for my BMW polishing ceremonies.. which will surely earn him
the BMW man of the year award !! No doubt about it ..was a great day.!!!

THANK YOU Jim ( aka JDN ) and Barbara!!!!!!

Andy and Maria

Glad you're having a ball Andy.

Only knowing JDN through the forums, I truly expected to hear what a great guy he was and am glad that you were able to confirm that he is, in fact, just that. (No surprises there! )

Maybe one of these days I'll be as lucky as you were and I'll be able to shake his hand. Until then, I'm honored to continue my relationship with such a fine individual through these forums...

JDN, if you ever return to the 'burgh, you better look me up!

Glad you had a great time. It is great to meet such wonderful people in person from these forums.

Plus, you will be thrilled with Rejex. That is some pretty amazing stuff. Use it myself.

What a guy that Andy545 proved to be. Along with that cute little wife speaking five languages makes for a very entertaining evening. As evidence of Andy545's good time at the BBQ joint, I took a picture of the bone remnants from his rib plate. He also had a generous pile of cole slaw and green beans when he started. He finished off the last rib and the corn on the cob after I took the picture. We had a hard time hanging it up and parting for the night. It was truly a wonderful experience and a credit to this forum. Thanks to das and Lomag for making all of this possible.

And I will look you up next time, Rudy. We had a lot going on last trip. My neighbor across the street move here from the 'burgh many years ago.

Are those all the bones? Man, when I'm done eating ribs, there's usually a stack (or 'mound' maybe) of bones three or four inches high!

Either way, looks like a great time was had by all...

JDN I've been sitting on this Barbeque thing all day and I can't hold back my thoughts.

How could you play host to Andy545 and allow him to eat St. Louis style pork ribs in Texas! Now I know it's Houston and Austin that are the real leaders in Q but c'mon JDN there has to be authentic Texas 'Q in Dallas.

Yes when it comes to ribs, it's always pork (St. Louis ribs not those Danish Baby backs), but when it comes to BBQ & Texas it's Always BEEF! And it's either carved brisket or shoulder clod served on either white bread or jalapeno bread period, exclamation point, end of story. Also it's always a dry rub, always slow smoked over mesquite, and the sauce is never "mopped" onto the meat, it's served seperate.

Oh well REAL BBQ comes from the South not the West anyways so who really cares.

Just kidding JDN, I guess my thoughts on BBQ tend to be like iceman's attitude toward foglights
