Couldn't he have just shot them in the leg? Im sure a shot gun to the leg would definitely stop the criminals from running

I hold a conceal-carry permit, work related. In any type of conceal-carry training you are always taught to shoot to kill, never to wound, deadly force always being the last resort. Also, dead criminals don't testify, sue over injuries, or seek revenge. I'm on the fence on this one, it's hard to comment without all the details. But I will say this, "An armed society is a polite society."

I like it. I think it's creative and funny. My wife would kill me and Minnesota's nazi DMV would never let it through. I'm still leaning towards M0550... Sorry to go off topic.

I deffnitly like it....I would get a kick out of it if I saw it on the road. Especially if you put it back words and you look at it from the rear view mirror and roall up behind a police car......lolo...

I wish JDN were here to give us his opinion on this one...

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5303222.html
Having only joined the forum recently in August after the passing of JDN, I never had the honor of interacting with him. I have read the memoriam, obituary, guest book and several posts by JDN as well as posts reminiscing about this fine gentlemen. I saw in guest book entry that he was passionate man, an avid gun owner, conceal carry instructor and former Texas president/board member for the NRA. How do you and other members who knew him well, think that he would have reacted to this story and what sort of opinion do you think he would have had??

They didn't shoot, so I think JDN would be upset that the guy killed them, but he would also defend the right to protect own and neighbours property, and he would definately defend the right to bear arms.

The guy should have been trained better. Then they would still be alive and the neighbour would be the good guy who stopped them.

Two thieves. Better alive? I think not.

Captured, and in prison for a while would be better, since they would still be alive.
