I don't know if your typical Porsche or Corvette aficionado would switch, but it will be interesting to see what the buyer demographics turn out to be. Probably guys with some coin looking for a great track car. It's the ultimate Japanese tuner car, but just how many boy racers can afford $72K?

The tests I have read on this are amazing, I would love to test drive one. Probably be a few years before the hype dies down though and they are sold at more "normal" prices.

Performance wise the GT-R is a one mean SOB.
But body style I find it kind of blah and not really a head turner (except of us car nuts). Kind looks like a teenager or early 20's kid put some body kit on a 350z.
Also in the end your driving a Nissan. Would you rather say you got a Porsche or Nissan?? When your spending that kind of cash on a car(second/weekend car in most cases) I think its safe to say you do value the prestige in the name, saying you drive a Porsche, Benz, BMW, Ferrari, etc. etc.. Though I can see it appealing to a rich man looking for a sweet track car.

If you think the GT-R is one bad SOB - it's been confirmed that they are already testing the V-Spec version.
- 330lbs lighter
- 550 hp
I read somewhere that on a "good" day and the right altitude, it will hit 0-60mph in the 2s and probably carve up the N?rburgring like turkey on Thanksgiving night.

When I was test driving a Audi A6 the dealership also sells Nissan, the salesman said they've had ten people put money down. But then he said they had to call all ten people and inform them that their dealership will not be servicing the GTR and any work would have to be done about an hour and half south of us. The list now has only three people on it. Salesman said they hope over the next few years depending on the demand they may begin to service them. He made it sound like it was a lot of time and money to get a service tech trained and the equipment to service them put in the shop. I was kind of shocked at that considering this is a very large dealership.

I've seen the car in person, it's not a good looking car though.
I agree 100%.
Like I said in my previous post it looks like some kid installed some type of ugly body kit on 350z. To me the car really doesn't pop out. If I'm spending that kind of money on what will most likely be people's second or third car/weekend toy I'd expect everybody on the road to look at me. To me I think that car would attract the "WRONG" crowd around your car everywhere you went.
Though I'd take one in a heart beat.
