Just put the damn plate on already people.
No way I'm putting an ugly rectangular piece of metal on my front bumper.
No way I'm drilling two holes in it to hold the damn bracket.
None of my cars had front plates for years, and no amount of tickets going to change that.
In Texas cops won't stop you for no front plate by itself. They usually tack it on if they stop you for speeding, etc.
Its a $10 fix it ticket, and you don't even have to prove it - just bring the picture, and they accept cell phone pix too!
I have pix of all my cars on my cell with plate attached by double sided tape :-)

Yes they do, and I've got a warning ticket from a state trooper to prove it
This is the 2nd time btw, 1st time was in my E39.

I didn't realize how easy it is to "fix-it". I'll remember this next time

I never had that happen to me though.

I looked up the laws in Illinois and from what I understand they can't pull you over for a license plate only; you need to be speeding or something and they just tack the license plate fine at the end.

But I also looked up the Altec retractable license plate, and it's only $60? Wow. I thought it would be at least $100. Might be worth it.

Until I get an M-tec front, I'll leave my front license plate on. I figured the damage is already done to the bumper, and those bumper nuts won't do anything either.

I just got a fresh "no front plate" ticket last Friday. It was a regular DUI or seatbelt checkpoint, and I got pulled over only because I didn't have the plate in the front.
$54 fine, no points. Whatever. I'm just debating putting it on right now. Not sure if I can pass state inspection without it. Anyone with any experience in NJ?

Oh, for cri'sake! What's with all the rhetoric. If your state requires a front plate, put the damn thing on! Think of it as more protection for your front bumper.

And while you are at it -- take off any plate frames that hide info, such as renewal date or state name. You can get ticket for that also. I removed my frames after I noticed they hid too much data. I put on narrow black metal frames that look sharp against the Silber-Grau.

As far as TX being different, OO-RAH for that. I have never seen a higher number of hotchicks, per capita, than in TX.
