Sorry - I tried posting this earlier, but there was a technical issue with the forum and all posts at the time came up empty.

Anyway, here is what I was wondering:

I got invited to take my e60 onto a race track for a day. I am really looking forward to checking out how the car handles on the track. Unfortunately my car insurance (Allstate) has a clause that excludes any on-track accidents. Does anybody here have any recommendations on what to do in this case? Do you know of an affordable alternative? Can I buy racing insurance somewhere else?

If I were to join BMW CCA, would they offer something, or cover me?

What if the event is a "driver saftey training" rather than a "race"?

Any help on this matter is appreciated.

My insurance does not cover any competition, that's what I know.

Here is some information in a previous thread.

LA BMWCCA exerpt

So if it is a driving school, then should not be a problem.

Read somewhere that if you do have an accident, then later, as you are leaving, take your car someplace and then say you had your accident there.
