Here's my theory. If gas in America was $1 a gallon in 1979, then it's actally underpriced now, taking inflation into account. These working folks over here bitch about gas prices, and then show up to work in a HEMI Dodge pickup that they can't afford the payments on, let alone the gas bill.
There's so much oil under the Earth that it'd last for at least 100 years, even if the Chinese all get cars. In addition, it'd be great if we could build a refinery in America once every 30 years.
The "gas scare" in America is all nonsense, manufactured by liberal media members who are jealous of folks like me who don't care how much gas costs, and who drive cars, take jets and otherwise travel everywhere most lazy, unmotivated people can't.
American liberals bitch about gas prices, but have you ever seen one riding a bike to work?
Of course not, because it takes too much energy.

And the prime rate in 1979 ranged from 11%-15%. I don't think we want to go there. And the truth is that adjusted for inflation, the price of fuel in 1979 was just a little over $3 a gallon (at least from what I can gather). That's a price we're very close to right now.
And I don't think it's only the American liberals bitching about the price of fuel.

I guess you are smoking the crack the illegal aliens are selling by the 7-11. I am one of the few folks that took my bike to work. I never ever ran into any log jam of bikers.
Typical liberal lies as usual.
