Full carbon-fiber Lotus Elise in Hong Kong

One of my best friends has an Elise. As far as I know, the body panels are -ALREADY- carbon fiber.

This simply looks like an unpainted car, with some other CF trim added for good measure.



Just an anecdote... someone backed into his car accidentally - the entire front clip (from windshield to the front of the car) is one piece. It had to be made to order and then factory painted. Want to know how much?

$14,000 USD!



This is a pic he shot of my car and his car back when they were about a month old (we got them at the same time) back in spring of 05...

the Lotus Elisa were never made of CF

The car has a hand-finished fibreglass body shell atop its aluminium extrusion and bonded frame that provides a rigid platform for the suspension, while keeping weight and production costs to a minimum.
