From the Engadget review:

"to our eyes, there has never been a more detailed, clear, or viewable screen on any mobile device."

to prove my point, please take a look at the side by side comparison between the latest and greatest AMOLED screen from Samsung (Galaxy S) and the iPhone 4:

YES, THE IPHONE 4'S SCREEN IS AS GOD AS THE AWESOME AMOLED SCREEN ON THE NEXUS ONE -- ACTUALLY BETTER.

Cool stuff. Looking at the brightness, colour and clarity of my Nexus One screen it's hard to imagine how anything could be better. With the world eagerly waiting for AMOLED TVs of a decent size (currently I think you pay about $10,000 for a 12" Sony TV with AMOLED), I wonder if the retina tech will become the new must-have LCD tech for TVs. We're a few years away from that though.

Bad news for the future of the Nexus One - they'll run out of AMOLED screens and switch to TFT LCD screens when they do. htc-ditches-amoled-in-favor-of-sonys-sclcd-displays

Putting the specs to one side, a great screen is just that, a great screen. If it's bright, sharp and clear, that's really all that matters. The Nexus One and other high end phones do have great screens. The iPhone probably has the edge this time around, but it's only a matter of time before something else hits the shelves that one-ups it in the specs department.

played with the 4 today for a long time at the apple store. yes, the screen is pretty awesome. compared it to the htc incredible and the apple display blows the HTC away by a mile. for everything else its same ole apple to me, couldnt see what all the fuss is about. couldnt compare it to the EVO cause the sprint store didnt have any working display models.

is it me, or does the 4 seem small? maybe its because its so thin, but i wouldve thought they shoulda went with a bigger screen.
