My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.
The Myyrmanni mall bomb in Vantaa September 2007.
A high school student did plant a self made bomb with spikes in a mall.
7 dead including the 17 yo bomber asshole and 80 injured.
Jokela school shooting in November 2007.
9 persons where shot in a school.
The fu*ker did kill himself. = 10 dead
Kauhajoki school shooting in September 2008.
10 persons where shot.
The looser did also kill himself. = 11 dead + 3 badly heart
The Sello mall shooting in Espoo today, December 2009.
5 dead and the 43 yo man from Kosovo did shoot himself. = 6 dead

I read this earlier, Ric. My condolences to all. However, I do not think it's a reflection of Finland. There are disturbed people everywhere. I can't even imagine how many pages a similar list would occupy for the US.

Did plenty of my own in the Air Force as well (4 yrs worth), don't know why so many want to turn crazy and do these things.

A lot of them do it for the fame these days.
I just heard about an unrelated (to guns) but equally horrific and senseless tragedy that happened in Germany yesterday. This guy had an argument with his wife and then told her he was going out to kill himself. He got in his car and managed to start driving the wrong way down the A7 Autobahn. Rather than just crash into a bridge, he crashed head on into another car which contained a father and his two little kids. They didn't have a f***ing chance.

Its a sad world we live in, in 1996 Thomas Hamilton shot and killed 16 primary kids and their teacher at Dunblane primary school only about 10 miles from me. My heart goes out to all those affected by this and other recent cowardly acts, I dont think any sane person can ever understand why someone would do these things.

My mother and stepfather live in Savonlinna and are very concerned about this seemingly developing trend. So am I.
From the couple of times that I visited Finland, I remember it being an almost ideal place to live - people are extremely polite, it is infinitely cleaner than New York City and so forth. From the little that I know of the Finnish customs, it would seem like Finland is the last place something like this would happen. The one theory that I am sort of pondering is - and I'm not sure if all of these shooters are immigrants - but if yes, maybe the somewhat exclusionary customs towards outsiders tends to isolate these people with murderous tendencies and turn them into proper psychos before anyone can notice. It is just a theory and at any rate is by no means an excuse for any of the awful things that have happened.
