Why?

I understand why Porsche did it, they needed the money.

But every Ferrari model has a waiting list.

Where is the baby Ferrari they have been denying. Now I know there making a baby Ferrari if they are making a SUV.

I was saying at the time the Cayenne was created management felt that the company needed a more dependable source of revenue.

Yes they are doing well these days, mostly due to the successful sales numbers of the Cayenne. I believe its Porsche's best-selling vehicle in North America.
