notat all stupid, if they what to still make cars in 10 years time.
with the co2 rules in US and EU they need to do something just like BMW.
But they should design more bio fuel cars and not hybrid.

Porsche is getting round this by taking advantage of its VW shares -- They use the "green" VWs to fulfil the overall company "green" goals set by the EU and don't need to compromise on their supercars. I would hve thought Ferrari would have done the same with Fiat?

That's right, but Porsche is already about the most efficient in its class. The new DFI engines on the facelifted 997's are making 29.4 mpg combined and they reduced CO2 emissions by 15% compared to the prior generation, all while meeting the EU5 regulations.

Fucking blasphemy!

Anyone else thinking of the Rush song "Red Barchetta"?

You guys have heard of Global Dimming right? Particulate pollution is cooling the earth at nearly the same rate that greenhouse gasses are supposedly warming it. The more we remove from the atmosphere, the faster the earth heats up...

A study of the 3 days after 911 (no airplanes flying, so no dimming coverage) showed the most unprecedented short-term temperature shift ever recorded - which lead to further NASA research, confirming this effect.

Wow, now I'm thinking of the Futurama episode when Fry teaches everyone how to litter in order to save the Earth.

More to suggest that we don't yet fully understand the complex climate system, and that changes that seemingly can only produce good results could be disastrous.
