Nothing should be more sacred than a soldier's funeral.
Disgusting
The recent ruling of a federal appeals court requiring the family of fallen hero Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder to pay the legal expenses of Fred Phelps and his misguided followers at Westboro Baptist Church is unconscionable.

Agreed, in the service of our country we defend the 1st Amendment (along with all the others) but, as with anything else, there should be limits. Feel the need to protest against the war(s)? Fine, but not at a soldier's funeral - have some friggin respect.

don't be shocked when you see vigilante justice against these hate groups
that's what I'd do, then challenge the justice system during my trial
worst case, sit in a jail cell and watch regis and kathy lee, then have a nice warm breakfast

Here in Minnesota there are, and thank god for them, The Patriot Riders.
They are a group of prior enlisted mostly.
They are a Motorcycle club, and one function they provide is to Man the Rails as it were at funeral.
Lining up outside the church and cemitarys where the service is being held, each holding an American flag on a flag pole and to make sure these other groups do not interfere with family, friends, or service.
They do this out of respect and give up their time when the time is needed.
Great bunch of people for sure.
