Has anyone heard of any changes to the e60 exterior design planned for Sept. 06? If there are that would be very disappointing given I am taking delivery on my car May 19 only to be outdated a few months later. If this is true does anyone know what changes are in store?

It's BMW, the car you pick up will always be outdated in less than 6 months. As for the rest of this model year... probably another engine update coming.

There are some pics running around here. Just do a search. No one is sure when they'll be implemented though. They are very very minor.

These, my friend, are wise words (at least from a US standoint). Pretty much all of us over here can resign ourselves to our cars being current for 6 months or less before a mechanical or bogus model year update hits the scene.

Thanks. What should I search for? Body Upgrades?

That's right. Unfortunate thing, though, is that the likely effect on residuals is very very major

Shrug. I doubt it. It's hardly noticeable, and I don't really even like the alterations.

I found the pics...

Wow, I must say that I am not impressed with the proposed changes.

Very minor - typical BMW ugrade IMO as it will only be obvious to those of us who have the car.

Surely you're not suggesting that BMWNA's bogus mid year MODEL YEAR revisions don't impact residuals? And that the 06's picked up in October weren't impacted by the BMWNA intro of the (US) 07's in March?
