Hey everyone,
I'm going to be picking up an SLR within the next 5 days.
Not sure which one to go for.
Your input is welcome.
p.s. My budget is $400-700. Since I'm going to buy an HD Cam as well
Edit: 450D was the same as the XSI

I voted for the d60, since I'm a nikon guy. but brand doesn't matter, it's the person behind the camera.
FYI the Nikon D90 also take HD videos, if you wanted to kill two birds.....

Based on your budget, I would go with Canon T1i with HD video recording (MSRP $899),

If I were to get a Nikon, it would be a D90 at a minimum (b/c of the HD video recording it offers).

Other features come to the Canon T1i from the 50D, including the Peripheral Illumination Correction and multiple noise reduction settings. Auto Lighting Optimizer and Highlight Tone Priority were already brought over with the XSi, but Creative Auto is now included, a unique mode that endeavors to bring creative control to the amateur shooter.

Hmm, I think I'd rather have a completely separate device for recording video tho.
I was going to go for a 1080p Device from canon.
The D60 did seem pretty good, but I think it's getting a bit older now.
And I do like how the D90 is "fresh"

I say buy the brand that your friends and family use. That way you can borrow their lens' while you build up your arsenal. Remember the camera body on a digital slr camera is pretty much disposable. Its the lens that you keep and hold value.
