So you are OK with a 500 HP M5 with a V10, but a SUV seems excessive to you?

How many M5 would you find on the street compared to non-efficient SUV?
I would support SUV when it's truely used for it - like more than 70% of the time, but I see people driving it just because of the ride height, SUV bandwagon, me-too kind of thing.
Think about Hummer, Ford Excursion, Aviator, etc.
What about super unefficient Caterpilla machinary? I support those because they're utilised for their own purpose 100% of the time.

Also, think about resource for next 10 or 20 years, and think about the war in Iraq.

Eh I kinda agree... too many SUVs on the road... i mean if there will be SUVs burning gas then let me have the M5 and burn gas.

Here in T.O. we're paying around$0.95CAD per litre for highest octane gas. I do mostly highway driving and with my current 7 (for a few more days, details to come) I can get 600-700 kilometres on a tank (88 litres). That's not too bad. And the computer tells me I'm getting between 11-12 l/100km. So my daily drive costs me about $8-9US. I can live with that.

I pay only $2.74/gallon (0.73 cents/liter) here in Bay Area for US 91 Octane. If I used Shell Credit Card, I'd have 5% off which would come out $2.6/gallon.

It all is a matter of what you are used to. US gas prices have never been this high, so we are focusing on it now.
