So, I was driving home from work and had to stop suddenly at a light because it's photo enforced and I didn't want to risk it. As i was stopping, I heard a clunk. I had picked up a 5 gallon bottle of water earlier and it tumbled over and the top had apparently busted off in my trunk. As I took off from the light, after about 2 blocks, my gauge cluster and my iDrive completely shuts off. I suddenly remember the water that I have in my trunk and associate it with the thump I heard. Then I hear door chimes going off, my winshield wipers are turning on, my radio is tuning in and out, I'm thinking oh crap....this is going to be alot of money at the dealership to fix. So I finally make it home, open my trunk and sure enough, the 5 gallon jug is on it's side with no top. I quickly remove the spare tire, and see the Control unit Micro Power Modul wet and the biggest puddle of water. I'm glad to report that all the water is gone, I dried the Control unit Micro Power Modul with a hair dryer and started up my car and it's business as usual. Just thought I'd share my little encounter with you guys and now I laugh about this whole experience.

Here is LITERALLY the amount of water I drained out of the spare tire area

Jesus! Nice save!

Can you remove the unit? If you can I would bury it in a bowl of rice to make sure ALL of the water is out to avoid future problems.

Yea it absorbs all of the water. That's why they put it in salt shakers
