Well i almost cried... I am totally having sellers remorse. The check for the rims got mailed today. I took them off already and put the stocks back on. I took a step back and looked at the silver 17x7.5 OEM 138's and was sad! I also stripped the black 530i numbers off the back, took off the black badges, took off the tinted eyebrows and those ripped off the euro stickers. Sad sad day. The only thing really left is the tinted tails, Brabus lighting upgrades, subwoofer, and exhaust. Badges are gone, roundels are gone, spoiler gone, and wheels are gone.
BTW any 530i owners who want the black bimmian numbers (530i) i will give them to whoever wants them. First pm gets them. I have no use for them and will throw them away if no one wants them.
Going to the dealer next monday to see what i can get for the car. If its shit i will ride off with the 530 and plan to keep it for awhile.
Just wanted to share my horrible day.

So what direction do you think you will head in Brett? CPO 535? CPO 550?
I gather than in returning your car to basically stock, you are preparing yourself to part with it.
I have still never fully recovered from parting with my 2003 540i Sport. That car was so special.
Do check kbb.com and Edmunds.com and see what your car is worth before talking to a dealer. Also, generally, it is not in your interest to bring up a trade in with a dealer until after you have a firm agreement on pricing for a new car. Telling the dealer about a trade in before you have agreed on a price for the new car shifts the power into his /her hands and gives the dealer another opportunity to screw you in the deal (either with the new car or with the trade in).
Really, kbb.com or Edmunds.com will tell you about what your car is worth.

Talking with dealers makes me want to kick their ass most of the time.....but with this economy and the fact people arent running in to spend 40k on a used car helps me out a lot. I went to the bmw dealership the other day just to look around and they swarmed me like starved dogs. Asking me question after question trying to get me to drive cars and talk about trading my car in.
Im just going to have to wait and see.
Also - anyone who has ever packaged and shipped wheels, can you give me some advice on good and bad ways to do it?? What should i protect the face with and stuff the boxes with? Thanks for anyone who can help me.

I would love a 335i or a 535i - Has to be white.
If i can decent trade in value, i would like a 335i coupe first, a 535i second, and 550 third. If i dont get what i want and the deal isnt right then i will try to drive the 530i stock.

But if considering a 5 Series, why 535 or 550? Have you driven both to compare? 535 is defiitely the car to get if you are planning on doing power mods given that ECU reflashes can bring you to over 400 bhp -- a number than no ECU reflash on a 550 can achieve. 550 is the car to get if you are not inclined to do power mods.

Well, if you didn't get AW, you wouldn't be AWG.
