I thought the Porsche 997 Turbo was the first with front LEDs. They are only for the parking lights but I don't recall any production car prior to it. It was introduced Feb. '06. The Q45 had a cluster of lights for headlights around '04 but I don't think they were LEDs.
I'm not a fan of LED headlights.

See: Porsche 997 Turbo for the Porsche and Q45 for the Q45. It claims 2001.

We're talking about headlights using LEDs not just those driving lights.

I also think LEDs in front lights are too much.
you do know why they designing LED!!!
it not just for looks.
It for the light to last longer and use less juice from the battury.
and better to the world too.
so I 100% go with any LED lights

Really? most seem to not like the Audi LED eyebrows... I rather like them. I see them all the time on the A6s and there was an R8 following me a few weeks back and I thought it looked rather nice.

I LIKE THEM!

HAhahaha it can be hideous and stupid but they were the "FIRST!"

Wait a minute... how can Caddy say they're offering the world's first volume full-LED headlamp yet they says it'll ONLY be on the Escalade Platinum edition????? so the non-platinum editions wont get these headlights right???

Thats the same thing as the Lexus LS!!!! they're only offering it on 1 edition of the LS... the 600h just like Caddy... only offering it on their bling bling RAP edition.
They are not the same, the LS headlights are not full LED, just the projectors.

The Caddys are the first full production led lights - indicators, low beam and high beam.

Yah, its all a little confusing. I seen this argued on other forums. It came down to the LS600h being the first to use a LED projector for the low-beams. The R8 is using LED DRLs and LEDs for both high-beams and low-beams. The Caddy headlights are the first full led, with LED projectors (low and high) and LED indicators lights.

Here is a good link, describing the R8 and LS LED headlights.

Ah I see... then I think Lexus took the biggest step forward... having LED DRLs or Blinkers do not require as much light output as does actual headlights... so with the low beam LED head light technology out... its much easier to implement it for high beam and indicator applications...

I'm sure they all knew how to it all already but matter of who rolled it out first...

Has anyone tried to replace the amber LED on E60 headlights for white xenon style ones?
