HAHA ya its funny cause if it was a used oem m5 bumper i would buy it lol. Intel is great two i run those as well. But if we are talking gaming and videos i think you have to go AMD but i have intels in most of my boards i don't really do gamming anymore. Thats what my modded xbox is for

Its the type of socket on the motherboard. Ya you have a good list of products there but you could get way better technology for the same amount of money. Like I said i would definitely stay away from the tri core processor i would definitely go quad. If you plan on gaming or watching movies i would go NVIDIA technology for the graphics card. For the mobo and CPU you can get good combo deals that will save you money. Like here for example http://www.directron.com/fallcombo9.html (264 for mobo and cpu) get yourself a case and PSU and your good to go pretty much.

If i were building a computer for around 500 bills right now this would be my setup (grocery list) The components listed below would provide better performance than an imac has for two times less the price

CASE: Raidmax Quantum Mid-Tower Case OR Thermaltake V3 Black Mid Tower OR NZXT M59 Gaming Mid-Tower Case (any of these cases are good depending how flashy u wanna be)
POWER SUPPLY: WIN-500XSPX APEVIA 500W JAVA Power Supply
PROCESSOR: AMD AthlonII X4 630 Quad-Core CPU
COOLING: Xigmatek Dark Knight- Cooling Fan or Thermaltake MaxOrb or the SPIN Q all should provide enough cooling
MOTHERBOARD: Asus M4A78LT-M LE AM3 DDR3 AMD 760G/SB710 Chipset
GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 1GB
RAM: Corsair DDR3
HARD DRIVE: WD 500GB SATA-II 7200RPM HDD
CD BAY: LG 22X DVD/CD/CDR-W Dual Layer Drive
NETWORK CARD: Intel Pro Gigabite 10/100/1000 Network Card

If you need anything else let me know. I have a lot of extra parts laying around i also have a Radeon hd 3450 graphics card (mounted never used) chilling too.
