Just came in to possession of a Compaq iPaq 3700 Pocket PC. I'd say it's about 2 years old but was new un-opened in it's box. Looks like it has 64Mb of internal ram. There is also a dual slot pcmcia expansion base and two pcmcia to compact flash convertors. (I can take snaps if required). Unfortunately, there is no on-board bluetooth or wireless connectivity.
I don't really have any use for it other than for sat-nav !
So, the question for the kids on the forum is - Can it be used for sat nav?
If there is anyone (specifically in the UK or Ireland) using an iPaq?
And if so, what would I need and would it be worth it? I assume a GPS receiver and mapping software to start with.
Or if not, know of a link to a site that could supply the appropriate information/kit to turn the 3700 into something usable. If it can be done I might consider it because the ipaq just materialised.
Thanks in advance.

Had a look thru the site. Looks like I'd need:
3300 jacket ?269
Memory ?54
Maps ?129
Antenna ?60
so the lot is over ?500.
And not all Ireland is mapped - only the major cities. (probably all three of them  ).
So now, is it worth ?500. Sounds a lot when I'm already donating a PDA.

I have one of those Navman Jackets lying around somewhere.
They are not the best gps recievers available (slow startup) but do work for the older ipaqs.
