We had an Airman with a Top Secret clearance (we're supposed to keep good tabs on them) go missing at my last assignment for over two weeks and no one in the military reported him as missing. Unfortunately, he rented an apartment off-base without telling anyone and committed suicide in it with a 45 to his head. When we worked the crime scene, the only reason he was discovered (or even acknowledged as missing) was because a neighbor in the apartment complex reported a foul odor. The apartment manager hired and exterminator who checked the building and discovered the odor coming from his apartment. The body was in horrible shape...
