What's up dudes and chicas!

Since that thread a while back when I posted a pic of some "peasant food", people been asking what was in it and stuff.

So here's a thread to post your favorite (or least favorite) "peasant food". I don't know what the technical definition of "peasant food" is, but I use it to describe any food that's kinda like soul food.

So without further ado, here's some borscht my girl whipped up today nom-nom

And an encore of those potatoes with bacon bits and mushrooms in cream sauce:

adding some german specialities:

just kidding , but indeed the Döner Kebap was invented in Berlin, by aturkish Kebap man.
It was in the 60's or 70's when he thought about how to sell his Döner to the germans. They were always busy and had no time to sit down and eat something, so he transferred the meat and veggies into a bread roll and offered this through a window in his store. This is the stry, how Döner Kebap was invented

Here's some "Fleischkäs"

typical german low-carb food - "Schweinshaxn":

Now something where I come from - Italy:

some speciality from sardinia:

grilled piglet:

..when everybody is saturated, my grandma offers us always this:

I hope I could give you a short introduction of what we eat during the day

@Krozi: When do you come back to Germany? Maybe a short meeting in cologne?

bye,Ivano

you mean german or sardinian food?

both is available in NYC,
just search for sardinian restaurant or german restaurant on google.com

there's a good sardinian restaurant on the lower east side, it's called "Cannonau"

Then I found this:

Zum Schneider Restaurant & Biergarten 107 Avenue C, New York, NY 10009, United States(212) 598-1098?
zumschneider.com

Bavarian Bar and Restaurant in Alphabet City / Manhattan. 12 German Beers on tap, Bavarian-German menu. Oktoberfest, World Cup, Karneval and more special events. Owned and managed by Bavarian Native.

Good luck finding your pig
