Not quite sure what this is about. The Prosecution and Defense present a case to the court, 12 private citizens convened to render an impartial verdict included. It is pretty straight forward. Dont know where lawyers rendering a verdict happens.

It's not what the person did that will make them guilty. It's what you can prove in court.
Unfortunately in this case, she got off because of the latter.
