I just got back from my favorite Chinese lunch place and I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I don't understand the meaning of the fortune cookie. Can someone explain it?

Here it is: "Love is the law, love under will." WTF?

bad translation. Seems to somewhat contridict itself though. I take it as "Love is law" as in love is a rule or must be follow. It basically says "one must love". It is then followed by "love under will", which I feel is essentially saying "you have been given free will, you are free to, but should chose to love".

So it tells you "You must love" then tells you "you should choose to love".

I have seen worse fortunes. I also spend a lot of time attempting to intereperet foreigners speaking English- so that is my basis which may or may not give weight to my thought process in your eyes.
