I've always wanted to play a guitar like that!

I have been watching Conan all week. I saw the John Mayer performance, always thought he was a d-bag. Definitely gained some respect for him hearing that guitar solo.

well i am a huge mayer fan. i have seen him live 8 times or so. his guitar skills surpass anyone of THIS generation. that solo was fairly light compared to some of the stuff i have seen from him. he is a living legend. unfortunately his douchebaggery sometimes overshadows his talent. and there is always the aweful pop garbage he is so well known for that still haunts him and everyone who has heard it. he has taken a turn in the right direction that past few years becoming more of a blues/jazz/rock/pop fusion artist

Interesting. That sure is a different take on that song, but still includes the nice harmonies of the original. I'm not a big Mayer fan but I did get the new live CD to check him out.
I really like Waiting for the World to Change, but not much else.
