I know I'm late to the party here, but I was in Salt Lake City that morning and the entire hotel I was in shook back and forth for about 30-40 seconds.

Hummm weird... I ran a search on earthquake and noticed we talked about a 6.3 in NV but no one posted anything on the one in China, 7.8!

Munich/Beijing. The powerful earthquake which hit Sichuan Province with a
magnitude of 7.8 caused severe damage in the area and BMW China and BMW
Brilliance have responded with prompt action. BMW donated RMB 1,000,000 to
the Red Cross Society of China for the eathquake disaster relief and
assigned 3 units of BMW X3 for the rescue team to help disaster relief. At
the same time, BMW appealed to all BMW dealers and customers to provide
their support as much as possible to join forces in times of hardship. BMW
staff have also started to donate funds and the donations will be sent to
the earthquake-hit area.

Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks announced today they will make an initial donation of over three million RMB (around 300,000 euros) to help victims of the massive earthquake that hit China?s Sichuan Province on Monday.
Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks said that in addition to their cash donation, they would match any donations raised by their employees.
Nokia has earmarked over 4,000 phones for immediate use in ongoing rescue efforts, with the first batch having already arrived, and Nokia Siemens Networks has established a 24-hour, on-site service for the local operator to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of its network.
Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks extend their condolences and sympathies to those affected by the earthquake, which to date has killed almost 15,000 people.
