Moving off the Survival album for a bit, I am going with the song from the Uprising album realesed June 10th 1980 on Island/Tuff Gong. I love this song, and I'm not alone. Many Jamaicans, as do I, list this song in their top 5 Marley songs, and it received lots of air play (especially after his death in 1981) while I was growing up and all those memories come flooding back whenever listen to it....kinda like the soundtrack of my life in Jamaica. The song has everything, it's so smooth, so beautifully arranged and produced, and the lyrics are some of the best ever from Bob. With the biblical references throughout the song, I have often wondered if he meant the song to be like a 'Psalm', reflective, uplifting and an expression of enduring faith.
He would leave us only 11 months later.

JA !!! , Phill I know lots of guys here have real problems with their dealers but my guys have been great for years , they offered a demo during the time it takes to sort this out but I told them all was good with the current line up ....... what you put out , you get back .... fair dealings = cool runnings, so ..I'm good........ will keep you up to date,.... and as always .... I appreciate your energy here !!

Back in Post #29 I dicussed the term 'Babylon' or 'Babylon Systems' and what it means in the Jamaican vernacular, and that to the Rasta, reggae & nyabinghi music Post #44 was the key to bringing down such systems. You should have been suprised then that I didn't include Chant Down Babylon (from 1983's Confrontation album) I simply forgot........

This song, reportedly written on a plane in 1979 and released on the Album (June 10th 1980), is a fun upbeat song that is great to sing and dance to. But, as is the norm with Bob, he never misses a chance to enlighten so he wants you to reflect on the your life and ask yourself the question and be love.?
