I have to say I find this something of a misstep by BMW... The sound that's pumped through the audio system isn't even the actual noise, it's carefully described as a "reproduction" and is seemingly synthetic.
The new M5 looks like a spectacular car, but faking the engine noise inside the cabin really isn't cool...

Ferrari is using a twinturbo based engine as the heart of the successor of the Enzo, I guarantee you that you'll never know it was a turbo unless you read this thread. And Porsche has been perfecting turbo performance engines for more than 30 years, and you'll not see them piping fake soundtracks into the GT2. Its pathetic that BMW and M had tried such bs game trickery, they've lost alot of respect with this move. If they didnt have the expertise to make a proper exhaust tune, just farm it out to a tuner like Akra for which they did on a recent public showing of the vehicle and then learn how to do it themselves, you dont do this faking bs on their 100K+ segment defining supersaloon.

Hearing a C63 or an E63 ROAR next to me at red lights makes me
Even when it is Idling. Those AMG can ROAR!!!!!![](https://5series.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)
I would love for a M5 F10 to be at the red light next to an E63. HAHAHAHA The M5 would rev it, he would think it is roaring but would actually be PURING HAHAHAHA.
Then again, Nothing a Good exhaust can't change
Never stopped anyone, even us with I6 engines
