My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets.
First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.
Hi All,
I have been driving these things since 1971 and have never bothered to join BMWCCA, but since an invitation was among my vehicle documentation, I've been thinking about it.
I would assume their "presence" is greater in metro areas, but wondered how they are in lesser markets (I'm in Albany, NY). I note that they are now headquartered in Greenville, as opposed to the original Boston location. How are they where you live?
Any thoughts??
Cheers,
Ray Hull

My Ride: 2005 530i SMG, Sport package, Premium package, L7, Xenon Headlamps, Window Shades, Rear red reflectors
I joined to get the $1000 rebate on my 530i. You have to be a member for a year but if you plan ahead it's worth the $35 membership dues.

I joined because a lot of dealers give 20% (some 25%) off of accessories and labor. For $40, it's worth it.

I joined for same reason... plus Roundel Magazine is pretty good read....

I think BMWCCA is great - even if you don't attend the meetings, meets, vote, etc.
As others have said, the dealer discounts (incl. the rebates on new car purchases) and the Roundel magazine are well worth the membership. Heck, just Roundel by itself in my opinion is worth the price of admission.

I know BMWCCA has a heavy presence upstate. Watkins Glen is reasonably close to you too.
There's also a group of older bimmer owners (2002, E30, E36, E39, etc) who do runs regularly near Troy. Check the tri-state forum on bimmerforums.com

Been a member since 1976 when I bought the last 2002 which still runs like a champ. Went to a couple of OFests when it was on the West Coast. Looking forward to collecting my $1,000 on a 530i on order.

I've joined back in 2002 cuz I was able to get 10% off the MINI Factory Alarm back then LOL and then I stied a member... and then I got tons of $$ off parts and then $1K rebate for the E60... I can probably cancel it now since my dealer will automatically give me discounts w/out looking at my BMW CCA card. They know me by face with all the parts I bought. BUT then I do like their magazine. so I'll stay a member...
