I am also not making any speculation as to whether or not it's true. When something like this happens, it's in the media, true or false. Unless, of course, you have the status and money to make it silent.

It's a civil matter - that alone should be cause enough to expunge the word "rape" from this discourse.

Ah but the Sheriff says the statute of limitations is 7 years, so the REAL reason this is going to civil court is because of the easier rules of evidence (same reason OJ lost his civil case - evidence that couldn't be allowed in the criminal case IS allowed in civil cases). Besides, she wants $$$$, if she was paid for her "silence" then she obviously doesn't feel she was paid enough. Somehow I see this going more the way of Kobe's trial than OJ's. Nothing happened if you can;t prove it.

I should have said, "you don't -only- take a rapist to civil court". Last I read/heard, there are no criminal charges filed or pending in relation to the alleged incident.
