You get what you pay for. He was enticed by big $$ so everyone in LA could say, "We have a big celebrity on our team and you don't!" Now he's acting like any other "actor" who is in it for the money and suddenly everyone gets pissed off as if he is betraying his home town. So long as he's honoring the letter of his contract, it is what it is IMHO. Isn't that the name of the game here in the US, "mo money, mo money?" Hey, the dude's gone native.

i think he has a lot of money, he can even buy the club
stars have transfer windows etc,. and get out of cards in their deals,
its all about money, but i think the owners burrow debt to finance all these ridicolous deals, and i am sure some money
is kept for spending on Rolls, Lambos by the fat cat owners in Swiss Bank accounts.....
imagine Becks playing on badly lawned pitches and empty stadiums, maybe he wants out,
i think if Kobe Bryant went to the Uk and played in front of 20% capacity crowds, he would be psssd and think abt getting out, sportsmen like to play to a big crowds, Gladiator style, its the same deal.
the losers are the real fans

The fans get to see one of the best players in recent history playing in an otherwise mediocre team in a relatively poor league. I think the LA fans made out pretty well to be honest. More to the point, as Bruce Arena acknowledges, the AC Milan deal was entirely within the terms of his MLS deal.

He's done nothing wrong here.

the price of soccer game tickets in the UK are so outpriced, that in future that will happen to the galaxy
all that money goes to the stars and the owners+fat cats.
i pity the loyal fans who don't give a sht if the club is big or not.

Don't forget the US isn't quite set up like other countries, Bill. The teams are essentially MLS franchises and the league exerts much more control over the clubs and players than you'd typically see in say Europe (many player contracts are with MLS and not necessarily directly with their clubs). More to the point, the clubs are essentially "manufactured" and haven't grown up in their local market. For example, my club, the San Jose Earthquakes, completely relocated to Houston and became a new team (Houston Dynamo)... The Earthquakes we have now, and I am going to the game on Saturday against D.C., is an "expansion" team, and not the original 'Quakes...

during football season lincoln nebraska revolves around the huskers!! I love the weekends because we tail gate saturday for the husker games....get wasted all day and then leave sunday morning to get down to kc to watch the chiefs! These have been some of the funniest weekends in my life!!! My boyfriend has chiefs season tickets and my step mom runs the luxury boxes at the husker games. I'm really lucky to have both of these tickets for me for free.
