I'm sorry to hear this but take heart, something better is on it's way to you soon. You are a very brave man to post this out here and I admire you for that.

I've been laid off once before (when I was in my 20's -- seems like a million years and another lifetime ago) and I know how hard it is. At first, it was hard just to get out of bed. It took me quite a while to get back on my feet but I did. In my case, I had to leave New York City to find a good job and I stayed out of town for 4 years until I eventually came back to New York City with another job with a firm that had a New York office.

Just get your resume in good shape and get out there. The economy will not stay this bad forever.
