The camera I used was
Canon 20D
17-40 f4 L USM for wide shot scenery
70-200 f4 L USM for zoom

Spent 3 nights in Banff and used it as a base for Lake Louise, Lake Morraine and Lake Emerald. Very nice.
The driving was pretty typical for my wife and I. There are days were 4-5 hours of driving is involved but that's easy going...a few stops here and there - no worries.
The objective for us is to absorb what is reasonably possible and within our limits, but for sure we're not the types of sitting next to a pool all day. I guess that day might come with children
- but for now we enjoy a bit of intensity.
