You know, if you set out to do it and you choose to look hard enough and long enough, you can find both real and imagined left and right wing messaging in virtually anything.
Probably best to simply enjoy this for what it is - which is a rather excellent piece of entertainment - rather than take umbrage at some perceived messaging that may or may not exist.
Anyway, as many of us had already noted, the basic plot is hardly original so why take specific offense at this movie over and above those before it?

10/10 for me.
The movie has been one of the best ones I've seen yet. Has everything a movie should Action, Adventure, Drama, and Romance.
did you guys know this movie was written 25 or 15 yrs ago.

I felt like Cameron thought: we need a huge epic battle scene for me to show off all my animation. What's the easiest way to get there? I know, an evil corporation exploiting the land of an indigenous people. That resonates with people.
Think about how cool the show Lost is. If you could combine a Lost plot-line or that sort of writing with this animation, it would be movie of the decade.
I just think Cameron got lazy with the writing.

I think some of you are reading reviews on the web and internalizing them as your own. Pretty much everything summed up by 1esquire was stated on Yahoo entertainment like 2 weeks ago.
That said, I do agree that a more original plot would have made the movie that much more amazing.

My Ride: 545i Sport Package, Black/Grey. Got it July 09.
Model Year: 2004
i think it was a great movie... 10/10 for me... i have yet to see a movie that isn't predictable.... and if i have, i can't remember and that's probably because of how few unpredictable movies there are out there, at least for me....
i saw it in regular 3d and am going to go see it again in imax 3d most likely... and i didn't think it was long at all...
and i must admit, i also thought it was like a modern Pocahontas
