You need to get out more

There are pleanty of us buying beemers - perhaps not in your region - but the world is a big place
I am sure he really didn't mean it in a bad way. Now that he mentions it, I don't see that many here, either, but it has nothing to do with money or anything; it's just a matter of what people like. I have seen more blacks in big ass Escalades than any other vehicle and I am sure they can afford the bimmers if they can afford the Escalades... The vast majority od BMW drivers I have seen seem to be white, Asian and very few blacks and hispanics, but the Asians are really ramping up their BMW buying. Again, this is not scientific, but just an observation...

I didn't take it in a bad way

Just pointing out that it's not really such an amazing thing for blacks to own a beemer (or Escalade, or Audi, or Porche, or ...) While social trends can dictate tastes, those of means have the ability to choose whatever. It's not all that surprising (to me anyhow) that the choice may include the Ultimate Driving Machine

It's extremely racial here....I hate it.
I don't know how long you've lived here, or where you moved from, but I've lived in Birmingham for over 22 years and MY experience it is one of the least racist places I've been. And I'm not gonna get into the "I've even got friends who are black" thing, but my best Porsche riding buddy is black and so is his 964...and his car's interior...and his tires. Anyway, that whole skin color thing is completely ridiculous... so I'll stop now.

On the message subject...when I bought my '95 E34 new, I had (1) stop sign ticket, (1) 69 in a 55 ticket, and my brother got a 48 in a 35 ticket....ALL befroe I had a tag on the car.. Interesting though...I haven't had a ticket since...

Your kidding right? Not being from the "deep south", it's very obvious, on both sides of the spectrum......and agreed, the skin color thing is totally ridiculous .

Back on topic............with the car being so quiet/ smooth @ 80, I guess I just need to pay closer attention

i lived in savannah, ga for 6 years. I am white, and i felt very uncomfortable in many cases. Racism is alive in the south, and everyone hates everyone. If I got pulled over by a black cop, it was a definate ticket. white cop, i had a good chance. It is a shame, but that is the way it is in pockets of the US.

I was like....am I done, next thing I know he back's his car up and takes off
