With all due respect, the lounge entrance states: "How was your day? Anything goes but please keep it PG-13!"
Now you're bringing up the fact that this is a BMW forum after all. So does "anything goes" only applies to BMWs? If so, I apologize for my silly non-BMW posts. In the mean time, I thought I'd share a PG-13 picture with my fellow members:

Attachment 76475
Yes, you can talk about anything.

But you are also asked to keep it PG13... because it is a BMW forum!!!

And that pic you just posted is NOT PG13! It is G, not even PG!

It's all about the right definition!

"More than brief nudity will require at least a PG-13 rating, but such nudity in a PG-13 rated motion picture generally will not be sexually oriented" from mpaa

brief nudity works in a movie...but in a still image nudity in briefs is not brief.

This was hardly "non-sexually oriented"
I didn't see any sex acts being performed. So where do we draw the line? If I looked at the still image for two seconds, is that brief? Is pornography inherent, or in the eye of the beholder? (Here we go, Larry Flynt v. The United States of America.) Technically, PG-13 includes explicit nudity that is not necessarily brief. Technically, the photos in question did not contain nudity at all, that is, exposed breasts and/or genitalia. I've seen thong bikinis like that on beaches all over the world, including the USA.

The forum claims to be PG-13. Maybe we need to change it to PG or G? Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT saying the photos in question weren't a bit too much for this forum. They definitely needed an NSFW tag, and IMHO don't belong here. I'll go to a non-car forum if I want to see that. What I am saying is that they did fall within the bounds of the stated policy. So, don't blame the poster.

Perhaps applying a motion picture standard to a still photo format is inherently flawed?

See here:

G - General Audiences
All ages admitted.
No nudity, no drugs, minimal violence, and limited use of language that goes beyond polite conversation.

PG - Parental Guidance Suggested
Some material may not be suitable for children.
May have mild violence and/or action, mild language and sexual references, brief nudity, intense images, sexual themes, crude humor or very mild drug references.

PG-13 - Parents Strongly Cautioned
Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13.
May contain moderate language, minimal strong language, some explicit nudity, intense violence, gore, or mild drug content.

R - Restricted
Under 18 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian.
May contain very strong language or strong sexual emphasis, strong explicit nudity, strong violence and gore, or strong drug content.

NC-17 - No One 17 and Under Admitted
May contain very strong sexual or offensive language, strong explicit nudity, very strong gore or disturbing violence, or graphic drug abuse.
PG, PG 13 and R = brief, some explicit and strong explicit nudity...

SOME explicit nudity... what is that?
Now read this:

A movie may be rated PG-13 for:

? sexual innuendo

? premarital sex

? nudity that ?is not sexually oriented?

? violence

? bad language (including the ?f word? though using it as a verb or more than once gets you an R)

? adult themes such as domestic abuse or extramarital sex

? drug use content

? bathroom humor, or

? heavy suspense.

We use PG-13 for more than movies. It is pretty much the description of any media.
Not sexually oriented!

If it is sexually oriented it can not be PG 13 anymore.

And close up pics of a$$es, where one sees camel toes... such pics HAVE a sexual orientation!

Therefore, they are not PG13 anymore.

A woman on the beach in her Bikini, if nothing is exposed (breasts or genitalia), is not sexually oriented.

Andre, we can argue the interpretation of the MPAA guidelines all day, but neither of us can determine what the MPAA officials would decide.

I mean, technically, according to the Princeton Dictionary, it's not even nudity:

"nudity: the state of being without clothing or covering of any kind"

Try as you might, you can not draw a hard line when interpretations are involved. As the moderator, it's your call in the end, but it doesn't necessarily mean that your interpretation of the rule is correct and someone else's isn't. It simply means you're the judge. If everything were so simple, we wouldn't have a court system since everyone would interpret things exactly the same way.

So, how about those F-1 diffusers?

Correct, but when you read through the posts you see that almost everyone thought that those pics didn't belong here.
That is, because we ARE a car forum. Of course, everything goes in the lounge as long it's PG13, but we still are a car forum.

If this would have been a forum for simple talk and entertainment... it would have been okay though.
But it's a subforum of a car forum.

And when you look back... whenever pics like those in question have been posted... one of our admins did removed them.
Before I became a moderator here I saw things a bit different and now follow those same guidelines our admins do.

Now, those F1 diffusers... I'd say an a$$ like that, exposed like that... = R !

Ah, I get it. Is this more PG-13? Notice, I also tried to keep it within the E60 topic:

Hotties washing cars were posted before.

But again:

Mark the thread so no one gets in trouble!
It STILL is NSFW!

And therefore this should NOT be in THIS thread here!.
