EDIT: i shouldnt say less buying power, you have more flexibility, however, from a sellers standpoint, he doesnt need to budge in price, you'll buy it.

no no, i wasnt insulting him or intending to offend him. that is great he has the 35K to buy a boat. a lot of people do, a lot of people dont. we are all capitalists and enjoy nice things here. i was just saying, if some guy came to buy something from me and he was getting a loan, and worried about money, i might budge to make the sale. if he was like "i am paying cash, 35K" i would be like "CHA-CHING, this guy is a sure thing, im not budging"

no. unfortunately they will take advantage of her. you need to find the biggest douche you know.
HAHAHA!
My question is, why do they need to know where/how you will be paying for the boat before you discuss the final price of the boat? Why even discuss payment terms until you know what the cost is? In that sense, if they know you are paying cash, Craig is right, you may have a disadvantage. Just like buying a car, the sales guy will never know if I'm leasing or purchasing until I know what the purchase price is. Let alone how I'm paying for it.
