Hey...I know this is a little of topic but I am in heavy negotiating at a boat dealer ship on a 2008 Larson senza 186, 5.0 mercury engine 220hp. Is this a good boat? This is the first time buying a boat, so I know nothing about pricing. Dealer is asking for $35,000CDN final with taxes for this. This includes 5 year FULL warranty, trailer with brakes, depth finder, 8ppl seating. Bimini top. $500 in store credit. I was told that negotiating on boats is not like buying a car. I was expecting discounts???

That was one of the first ad I saw when researching average prices. Not really a confrontiational person but was thinking about printing a couple of these ads out and bring them to the dealer and ask when their is a gap.

Then again, maybe there is a valid explaination? I don't know, that link look pretty comparably equipped!

Thats the funny thing...I am paying CASH. No one these days pays cash deal. When I said that to the owner thinking he is goin to jump on that but he said it makes no difference if I pay it or my bank does; its the same price. I told him banks these day are not going to do boat loans as easy as they used to be. He said not exactly, they still do. I dont know what to do. Im getting stone walled, seems like im goin to take your advice and bring some ads ive seen and ask nicley what he has too say. $ 35,000CDN is alot for a summer toy.

actually, the fact that you are paying cash gives you less buying power. um... i dont feel bad for you if you have 35K cash to blow on a boat. it is the people struggling that get prices to move.
EDIT: i shouldnt say less buying power, you have more flexibility, however, from a sellers standpoint, he doesnt need to budge in price, you'll buy it.
