Good to know that. Hey, Scott. You might as well be the unofficial legal counsel of this forum.
Thanks David but the areas of law that I pratice (commercial and insurance coverage litigation) are only of use to corporations. I have not practiced in the areas of law that affect everyday folks in their personal lives (domestic relations/criminal/wills, trusts, estate/real estate/personal injury, etc). But I do know foks who practice in those fields. Still, when most friends ask me legal questions about the above areas, I feel a little useless.

I have inquiries out and hope to have some names for you tomorrow.

Here is what I did:

1. Sent an all attorneys email to my firm asking for a reference.

2. Emailed a friend of mine who is a partner at one of Philadephia's biggest firms asking for a reference.

3. Emailed a friend of mine who is one of the top divorce lawyers in New York City asking for a reference.

4. Emailed a contact of mine who is a respected lawyer in King of Prussia, Pa.

I should be able to get you some names with casting this net. If it does not get me some good names, there are other places I can reach out to.

I will keep you informed of progress. I am going away on vacation to Spain tomorrow evening but I will check E60.net and my emails from time to time.
Scott, your the man!! Good work and enjoy the trip!!

WOW, thank you! You really didn't need to do that but thank you for doing it. Looking forward to your reply.

Barcelona huh, awesome, I spent some time there myself. If you can, go to the Artz hotel on the ocean there, simply awesome....worth the splurge for a night! Have fun and stay safe!

No big deal with helping you find counsel. That's easy.

Funny you should say that about the hotel. My wife and I are staying at that hotel -- Hotel del Artes. It is a Ritz Carlton property. Thankfully you can cash in Marriott Rewards points at Ritz Carlton hotels. In 2007 and 2008 I stayed about 180 night in Marriott hotels taking and defending depositions and staying for a two month trial. I deliberately stayed only at Marriott to accumulate points. The Marriott Rewards program is very very generous.

I am an attorney, but domestic relations is not my bag.

But let's look at this pragmatically. You pay $600 / month for your daughter, and your daughter is with you half of the time. Using simple ciphering, you are paying $40/ day for every day that your child is with her mother. In the grand scheme of things, and all things being equal, given your respective incomes, that does not seem to be out of line.

I know that it's a difficult pill to swallow that your ex can't account for what she uses the support payments for . . . I hear this same lament from divorced friends and acquaintances.

Remember . . . . THEORETICALLY, the payment is for the support of your daughter. One can only hope that your ex uses the funds appropriately to enrich your daughter. I hate being a wet blanket, but I honestly believe that you don't have a snow ball's chance in hell of getting a reduction based on the circumstances you presented.

I am now starting to receive specific referrals from my contacts.

To the OP, I have sent you a PM with the first referral I received. As I receive more, I will send you additional PMs.

Ahh, good for you, best hotel in town, across the street from the port. Note the awesome cars there too. I was there in 1996 during my honeymoon with the bitch that's now taking my money (child support), haha! Food there at the hotel is awesome! Try to get an upgrade to one of the two top floors, they then have a free penthouse type place that serves free drinks and food all day. You'll note too that that hotel uses marble like americans use plywood.....just awesome...Lucky you! Have a great time!
