my yellow lab had a similar issue in his later years, it started out with him cocking his head to one side, like he was trying to twist it off. Then it progressed to the point where he would actually roll over and over on the floor in the same direction until he was stopped by a wall. The vet said it was an ear infection that was messing with the fluid in his ears and making his equilibrium be off. a strong dose of antibiotics did the trick, hope this helps

An ear infection could definitely cause those symptoms. I have an English Bulldog that constantly battles ear infections. This affects his equilibrium. You need to take the dog to the vet for an accurate diagnosis. If it is an ear infection, medication will clear it up.

craig let us know what happens.. alot of us are dog lovers here.. ive owned and my mother used to breed and show german shorthaired pointers...im not an expert, but dealt with my share of doggy stuff..lol..
what your saying sounds obviously like a trip to the vet. but has your dog been in water? given a bath maybe?? maybe he has an ear infection? that could definitly affect his walking and equilibrium.. could be why hes tilting his head to one side... feel his/her ear, is it warm? does it smell? that will let you know if its an ear infection.... could be a possible parasite? my dog picked one up one day just by sniffing otther dogs crap! pissed me off, but scared me... hope it all works out..

Did he get in the water at the beach? Probably just something foreign in his ear he can't shake out.
A vet should have a look. They'll be able to drain/get it out, some antibiotics, then good as new.
