"China copycats unveil lookalike Rolls-Royce.... for just ?30,000"
With a headline like that above, it got me thinking, does China make any fakes that resemble any BMW cars? The copy of the Rolls at roughly a tenth the cost is incredible. Wonder what kind of metals they are using??
"The Chinese lookalike is the Geely GE, which the company says stands for Geely Excellence.
The company describes the GE as a 'luxurious mobile palace' with 'six star' safety.
It is 'top of the class luxurious brand' that is 're-inventing the classic.'
Indeed, as well as paying homage to the original Rolls-Royce Phantom's looks, the Geely GE has also paid tribute to the luxury car's interior, by featuring massage seats, subdued interior lighting and, a signal feature of the original Phantom - a 'starlight' interior roof lining which gives the rear passengers the romantic feeling of staring up at the stars."
SIX STAR rating??? By what standards?
And I would like a starlight roof lining in my car.

China's got plenty of E60s (although virtually no M5s or 550s). Well, at least there were quite a bit in Beijing and Shanghai when I was there a month ago.
