Civil countries apply the normal VAT (17-20% depend on the country)

We had 21% but now they dropped it to 20%, but the thing that ruins everything is that in cars we pay two taxes, that means you pay the VAT and another TAX on top of the VAT.
That is ilegal and that is why the Portuguese State is under a proceding in the European Court!
I hope they loose it!
A new car with the things that my car has, costs something like 118.000,00€!! Yes a hundread and eighteen thousand euros!

Hellraiser, go to Germany to buy next car and imho you wouldn't pay that tax . Or maybe yes..
Better, get a lease there and you will have the car with german license plate, cheap insurance and no tickets
I will have to study this solution for next car!
