Mine is not so much a vote for Airbus as a vote against Boeing. As a nearly 40 veteran of Lockheed Martin I spent many a long day, week, month, years doing pitch battle in some fierce competitions against Boeing (the evil empire) Though this competition was always in the DoD arena and not in the commercial side I just found that I did not like the way they did business. Like I said, its a bias against Boeing business practices and not their commercial jets.

OOhh goodie. An inter-rivalry fight.

Looks a nice piece of kit. Is that a C-17?
When you say you work with them, do you sell them, bend them, fix them or make 'em?. (Sounds like an Irish folk group.)...

Have no idea...but you're probably right. I work in a Upper Area Control Centre ( controlling aircraft in airspace above 25000feet ) - AFAIK, here in Europe, there will be a shortage in UAC's until 2008.

4 years training with 46% pass rate also explains the reason for slow intake.

There are other choices; my personal preference is the Cessna Citation X

Just need to make some more $$ so I can afford one. For now it's off to the airport for the Southwest 737 Cattle Call.

I worked JSF (Joint Strike Fighter), Titan, Atlas V, C130 Cockpit Refit to name a few. Won some, lost some.

Now I help launch these babies and yes it IS a Boeing (well really McDonnell Douglas) booster

WOW - even more impressed. Is that the Cape where the launch is taking place?

If memory serves me right, the contract for the JSF went to Lockheed-Martin?
Obviously, both L-M and Boeing must have spent a fortune trying to win the contract by demonstrating their onw products. Seeing the L-M won it, does this mean that Boeing have lost a lot of money in developing their demonstration fighter for no contract at the end? Is the technology gone to waste?
