what a joke. I think they just what to make more money.
I think if a plane is going to crash 99% ppl with not live even if it has all airbags in the cockpit.

I'm no expert but I would think that it depends on the crash. Raising the G rating for the seats to 18G's seems like a good idea and there are lots of injuries that happen on crash landings or ground collisions where the airbags might help. I don't think the airbags are for mid air breakups like the Air France flight from Brasil or the recent icing accident in Buffalo.
On another note, aren't airbags set-off with explosives?

Or what about ejectable parachute seats? I never understood why there isn't parachutes... At least there would be a better chance of survival right?
