Sensor Location

My Ride: 2004 545i TITANIUM GREY II on Black Dakota Lthr, Comfort Seats, Sports PKG, Premium PKG, Active/Dynamic Drive, NAV, Winter Package.

Anyone knows where the airbag or crash sensors are located behind the front bumper? Thanks

Wrap a towel around a hammer and start hitting the bumper in the middle then out to the sides. You know when you hit the "spot".

There are two acceleration sensors in the front bumper only on US version cars. After that, there is a sensor mounted inside each front door and inside each B-pillar.

The following diagram will help illustrate the general location of these sensors (look at part numbers 5, 7, and 9.):

One thing I just noticed -- you're in Canada. I have no idea if the front bumper sensors are present on your car. Sometimes, BMW categorizes cars from "North America" and other times they say "US". In the case of these sensors, the TIS says "US" but you never know if that may include Canada or not...
