Had to bring the car in for some maintenance and had the Daytime Running Lights activated. They also loaded new software (not sure which ver), the communication page looks different as well as the i menu. Question - Is there a location in the i drive menu that allow you to turn the daytime running lights on / off? If so where?

No. The dealer has to code this and they might charge you. Did they ask you when they delivered the car?

drjochen is right. There is no adjustment in the idrive for that. The dealer has to actvate/deactivate the feature. If you didn't ask for it before they upgraded the software maybe you should have them revert it back to your original setting, free of charge.

It depends...

On some cars there is a position in the i-menu. Settings, Light...

But this is not possible on all E60's.

My iDrive have tickable option to turn on/off the DRL as my CA showed me the how-to during pre-delivery if I prefer it on, but the CA been having a hard time getting what CIP version (they claimed to be the latest as all upgraded right before delivery) I'm on and all my amber eyebrows lights still works.

It is not available on cars with CCC. It is only possible when you have the M-ASK.

Seems like something that they could add for both CCC and M-ASK cars...since earlier software builds on US cars didn't have that option, I wonder if it'll be available for all of us someday in the future?
